The Romero Britto exhibition, hosted by the Automobile Forum Under den Linden in cooperation with the Mending Gallery, has taken place last 10th of July to the 6th of September 2009. In keeping with Brittos wider ideals, at the conclusion of the show, the Bentley unit will be put up for auction in aid of the Nathalie Todenh Foundation for multiple sclerosis as well as Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to improving the integration of the mentally disabled within society.
Romero was delighted to be given the chance to turn a Bentley into a Pop Art sculpture for according to him it is the most beautiful and elegant car in the world. The lines of the new design are perfect to paint as a clean canvas.
Raul Pires, Head of Exterior Design at Bentley Motors and like Romero Britto, a Brazilian was central to the creation of the Continental GT. He thoroughly agrees with his countryman. “A Bentley holds the unique combination of exhilaration and relaxation in one package, an automotive sculpture with elegant powerful surfaces. The ultimate in craftsmanship”, he exclaimed.
Britto, one of the most admired and popular artists currently working within Pop Art, creates pieces specifically to put a smile on people´s faces. Having grown up in poverty in Recife, Brazil, his work belies his background by creating a fantasy world inhabited by child-like creatures and optimistic, strong colors. “Absence everything in life moves toward an end”, says Romero Britto, “we should fill our life with color and hope”.
His paintings, graphics and sculptures can be admired in many of the worlds leading art galleries including the Museum of Modern Art and Guggenheim in New York. He counts the Kennedys, Rothschild’s, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steffi Graf and Elton John among his friends and collectors.
Now let us dig deeper on the real art, itself. Vorsteiner has unveiled their BR9 styling package for the Bentley continental GT. Constructed with high-tech “vacuum bagged dry carbon fiber technology”, the five-piece body kit includes a new front bumper (that sits 39mm lower than the stock bumper), aerodynamic side skirts, a redesigned rear bumper (which sits 35mm lower than the standard bumper) with an integrated carbon fiber diffuser, and a deck lid spoiler.
Options include custom paintwork, a gloss or matte finish on the carbon fiber exterior components, and 22-inch forged aluminum ‘Monoblock Mesh’ wheels outfitted with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires.

Vorsteiner has revealed the BR9 upgrade package for the Bentley Continental GT and Speed models. The Vorsteiner BR9 Bentley Continental GT body kit includes 5 lightweight parts made from dry carbon fiber. The Vorsteiner BR9 Bentley Continental GT comes with a new front bumper, with a larger air intake and a replaceable lower chin spoiler. The new front bumper is 39 mm lower than the factory one.
The Vorsteiner BR9 Bentley Continental GT also includes matching side skirts and a new rear bumper, with an integrated diffuser that features dual racing fins. The Vorsteiner BR9 Bentley Continental GT is finished with a carbon fiber deck lid spoiler that increases the downforce.
The car sits on 22inch Forged Aluminum Monoblock Mesh wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires. The price for the package has not been announced yet.
The BR9 carbon fiber rear bumper also sits 35mm lower than the original factory bumper accentuating its new aggressive sports car like stance. The BR9 lightweight rear bumper houses a racy integrated carbon fiber rear diffuser with built in dual racing fins that sits in between the oval tail pipes.
Finally the rear end of the BR9 is completed with an elegant yet functional carbon fiber deck lid spoiler attachment to balance the additional downforce of the front end.
All of the carbon fiber aero components are individually hand made by our master trained technicians and can be ordered in a choice of glossy or matte finish carbon fiber.
